It's been quite a while since I've posted a set and I wanted to let everyone know that it wasn't because I was away from the studio. Actually, I have been working, but this time instead of making or mixing a set together, I decided to work on several productions. This is the first of two FREE DOWNLOAD's that I will post on the Able-Technolgy Podcast for the month's of May and June.

I do want to set things straight with this podcast.... You can use it in your DJ sets, download it onto your i-pod, or just bang it in your car. Do whatever you want with it.. even remix it if you want.

This track was produced in Live 6. I had a blast arranging and producing the piece. It has over 27 individual tracks moving through it, from the 5 Atmosphere Modules, to the dueling Trilogy bass modules, and last but not least the various audio samples (DJ Scratches, Female vocals, and a small piece of Lexicon Avenue's "Why are you Here") The percussion was plotted via an onboard percussion kit I made from various drum machine kits that my friends have given me over the years. I took the "one hits" from these kits and placed them into the Impulse Module in LIVE then plotted the midi notes to create kicks, snares, percussion, drum fills etc. It is written in D-minor. I really liked working in that key because it allowed me to arrange melodic tribal notes that cohesively melted into the arrangement.

I don't really know how to classify this track into a House genre... I'll leave that up to you. I encourage you to please drop me a line on myspace if you happen to use this track in a set or arrangement. Working together with my audience allows me to polish my production skills, but more importantly it gives me an opportunity get to know the individuals who are listening and downloading my podcasts.

Well without further delay... click play and enjoy this latest installment of the Able-Technology Podcast for May 2007.

Cheers!

John
